Man charged with growing marijuana in front yard ST. CLOUD, Fla. -- Most people growing marijuana illegally at least try to hide it from authorities. One man in central Florida was allegedly growing the plants in his front yard. Agents with the Osceola County Investigative Bureau arrested and charged Bryan Hartman on Monday for cultivation of cannabis. Authorities said Hartman had 17 marijuana plants - some as big as seven feet - that could "easily be seen from the roadway." Link

Texas county ballots wrongly have flag of Chile AUSTIN, Texas -- Election officials in Atascosa County are correcting a mistake on absentee ballots to remove the flag of Chile, which is similar to the Texas banner. Voter Troy Knudson noticed the error. Knudson told the Austin American-Statesman that election officials congratulated him "for preventing future Atascosa voters from seeing the flag mistake." Link

Job applicant caught trying to cheat on polygraph OLYMPIA, Wash. -- A Washington State Patrol manager arriving at the Olympia headquarters for a meeting noticed a book on the seat of a parked car about "how to beat the lie detector." The Patrol said Criminal Records Manager Heather Anderson called the Human Resources division last Wednesday and was told a job candidate was in the process of taking a polygraph exam. Link
